DH20 Overview

The DH20 Digital Hybrid incorporates the latest in DSP technology to provide you with the best sound and easiest installation.

The DH20 are high quality single-line telephone interfaces, designed to interconnect a standard telephone line and your audio equipment, allowing you the ability to send audio to and receive audio from a connected telephone line. The DH20 is ideal when the very best audio quality is required for talk shows, news feeds, production, recording studios, and internet applications.

Our newest DSP technology delivers better and more reliable sound quality. The DH20 deliver the deepest and most stable hybrid null, ensuring maximum isolation between the send and caller audio. That means no echo and no "bottom of the barrel" sound.

In addition, we've added selectable automatic gain control (AGC) and caller ducking. With AGC, each call will be delivered to your equipment at the same level. Caller ducking reduces the caller's audio level when the announcer speaks, providing a more "controlled" environment. We've also added a speaker amplifier so you can connect a speaker directly to the unit and monitor callers without headphones.

Analog PhoneRJ11 Connection
Analog Phone Line

Analog Phone Line: Analog lines, also referred to as POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service), support standard phones, fax machines, and modems. These are the lines typically found in your home or small office. Digital lines are found in large, corporate phone systems.

How do you tell if the phone line is analog or digital?: Look at the back of the telephone connected to it. If you see "complies with part 68, FCC Rules" and a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN), then the phone and the line are analog. Also, look at the phone's dialpad. Are there multiple function keys? Do you need to dial "9" for an outside line? These are indicators that the phone and the line are digital.

DO NOT CONNECT TO A DIGITAL SYSTEM: A digital phone line can damage analog phone equipment. If you're thinking of connecting a DH20 to your office's digital phone system, DON'T!  The DH20 will not function and could be damaged.

Analog phone equipment similar to the DH20 tries to draw an electrical current over phone line to operate.  A typical digital phone system has no facilities to regulate the current being drawn through it.  As a result an analog equipment can draw too much current and cause damage to the device.
